ChatGPT is down again: OpenAI’s ChatGPT is hit with outages. Here’s what you need to know
Less than a month after blaming high error rates for API and Sora for ChatGPT outages, OpenAI announced this morning that its AI chatbot app is experiencing an “elevated Error Rate for ChatGPT and API.” ChatGPT has been down for about an hour with no word on when the popular chatbot will return online
The outage has prevented many users from accessing the service. These disruptions, likely from server overload, technical glitches, or underlying infrastructure problems within OpenAI’s systems, have impacted ChatGPT’s availability.
In a post on its status page, OpenAI said the technical glitches surfaced around 0:35 PST.
“Elevated Error Rate for ChatGPT and API. We are continuing to investigate this issue. We are currently experiencing elevated error rates in the API. We are currently investigating.”
According to Downdetector, an online platform that tracks website and service outages, the outage started at around 6:35 AM Eastern Standard Time with over 4,329 incidents reported.
This is the third time in a short period that ChatGPT has experienced widespread outages, raising concerns about the reliability of the popular AI chatbot.
This is breaking news and will be updated.
