ChatGPT is down again: OpenAI’s ChatGPT is hit with outages. Here’s what you need to know
Just a month after blaming targeted DDoS attacks for ChatGPT outages, OpenAI announced this afternoon that its AI app ChatGPT is experiencing glitches for some users. ChatGPT has been down for at least two hours with no word on when the popular chatbot will be back online.
In a post on its status page, OpenAI said the technical glitches surfaced around 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
“ChatGPT, the API and Sora are currently experiencing high error rates. The issue is caused by an upstream provider and we are currently monitoring. We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue,” the company posted as of 3:06 p.m. Eastern.
According to Downdetector, an online platform that tracks website and service outages, over 15,000 incidents have been reported by OpenAI users this afternoon, with most problems related to ChatGPT.
This is the second time in a short period that ChatGPT has experienced widespread outages, raising concerns about the reliability of the popular AI chatbot.
This is breaking news and will be updated.
