Tonkeeper wallet now accepts HMSTR tokens for TON transaction fee payments
Exciting news from Tonkeeper, the non-custodial wallet for TON’s blockchain: Users can now pay transaction fees with HMSTR tokens. Tonkeeper announced on Thursday its support for HMSTR, the token associated with the popular Telegram-based web3 game Hamster Kombat. Starting October 1, users will be able to pay TON network transaction fees with $HMSTR through Tonkeeper
This update brings the ‘Battery’ feature, simplifying how users cover TON transaction fees with HMSTR. The system streamlines transactions, allowing users to send payments without unnecessary steps. You can also top up your Battery using a bank card directly in the app, making HMSTR transfers even more convenient.
According to Daniel Cawrey, Tonkeeper’s Chief Strategy Officer, the update introduces the Battery feature, allowing users to cover TON transaction fees with HMSTR tokens. This system operates in the background to make transactions seamless, especially for users who receive HMSTR through airdrops but don’t have the TON needed for fees.
Users can easily top up their Battery with cryptocurrency or through app stores, making the process hassle-free. While popular with Android users, the feature won’t be officially available until October 1, after adjustments to the HMSTR airdrop amounts.
“When users receive HMSTR through an airdrop, they typically don’t have any TON to cover fees. Battery solves that problem. You can easily top it up with crypto on the TON network, or even through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store,” Cawrey explained.

The Hamster Kombat airdrop is set to bring millions of new users to the TON ecosystem. Tonkeeper’s collaboration with Hamster Kombat ensures a simple, non-custodial setup for players who want total control over their crypto.
With this support, Hamster Kombat’s token airdrop, one of the largest in TON’s history, is expected to onboard a massive number of users. The Telegram-based game, with over 300 million players, challenges users to evolve their hamster characters into crypto exchange CEOs. With over 52 million subscribers to the Hamster Kombat Telegram channel, the game has become a hit in the web3 gaming space.
Tonkeeper currently reports 34 million monthly active users and 8 million daily active users as of September 25. The $HMSTR token has also launched on major crypto exchanges, including Binance, OKX, Bitfinex, and Bybit. The airdrop of 300 billion tokens has already kicked off, with 131 million players selected for rewards.
With the Battery feature, Tonkeeper users receiving HMSTR tokens can easily manage transaction fees without the need for additional TON. It’s a seamless system that takes the stress out of handling fees, so users can focus on enjoying the game and exploring the ecosystem. The feature will be available starting October 1, following the reduction in HMSTR airdrop loads.
