French researcher Dr. Didier Raoult provides a new scientific update on the study of Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin and their effectiveness in treating coronavirus (COVID-19)
Renowned French researcher, Dr. Didier Raoult, has become a controversial figure in the science community after his second study showed that malaria drugs Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin were used in the fight against coronavirus. Last week, Dr. Didier Raoult and his team of researchers completed new additional study on 80 patients, which showed that combination of Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin to be effective in treating COVID-19.
However, several other scientists and critics of Dr. Raoult were quick to cast doubt on his findings with some saying his testing was not carried out in a controlled study and that the results were purely “observational.” However, Raoult insisted that the Chinese pulmonary expert Zhong Nanshan observed a similar pattern.
Now, Dr. Raoult came out with a new scientific update and epidemic data to back up the work he and his team had done. In a tweet posted a couple of hours ago, Dr. Raoult said: “Nouveau bulletin d’information scientifique : point d’actualité, présentation de mon état-major. J’en profite pour remercier tous ceux qui s’engagent à l’IHU : personnels de soin, de recherche de sécurité, administratif. Vous faites un beau travail.”
