Leaked Internal Document reveals Coronavirus Infections is 52 Times Higher Than Reported in China’s Shandong Province
Coronavirus outbreak continues to spread around the world. The virus, which was first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, has claimed over 2,700 people’s and more than 80,200 confirmed cases. However, it seems the number of cases are under-reported, according to a new leaked document posted on a Chinese website, weibo.cn, which was first reported by Epoch Times. The novel coronavirus which is responsible for the emerging COVID-19 pandemic mutates at an average of about two mutations per month. A genomic epidemiology article on the cryptic transmission of novel coronavirus also shows that COVID-19 pandemic mutates at an average of about two mutations per month.
According to the report, the Shandong CDC daily new infection numbers ranged from being 1.36 times to 52 times greater than the officially published data by the Shandong health commission and China’s National Health Commission.
For example, the government publicly stated that there was 1 new confirmed case in Shandong, with a cumulative 750 confirmed cases on Feb. 22, but the internal document said that 61 patients were diagnosed with the virus that day.

Between Feb. 9 to 23, Shandong authorities underreported the number of infections every day, according to internal data compiled by the Shandong Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC). The latter kept a tally of the number of patients who tested positive for the virus during nucleic acid testing—using a diagnostic kit to test body samples and detect whether they contain the virus’s genetic sequence.”
