B2B2C startup Ladingo announces a new solution to reduce the pain faced by online retailers looking to ship large items internationally
Back in November 2018, we wrote about Ladingo, an Israeli-based B2B2C that allows anyone to buy anything, of any size in your online-shop or marketplace, from anywhere in the world. At the time, the startup announced a solution to let anyone buy a sofa online from overseas and get it to them for cheap. Now Ladingo has cracked US retailer’s global shipping pain.
Today, Ladingo is formally announcing a new solution that solves the challenge surrounding a key pain experienced by online retailers looking to ship large items internationally. The announcement will be made at the NRF2019 Expo at the Javits Center in NYC before the biggest names in retail.
Founded in 2017 by Guy Levy, Ruth Reiner, and Hagar Valiano, Ladingo enables online-retailers to sell large items to international shoppers via ocean freight by utilizing its container-sharing optimization algorithms. With Ladingo, buying a sofa from overseas is as easy as buying an iPhone case and shipping costs are lower than ever. Ladingo’s system optimizes cargo containers that enables maritime shipping companies to combine several international deliveries from one country to another. Ladingo is the first to offer a robust enterprise cloud-based solution which connects sellers, online shoppers and ocean freight forwarders to enable the cheapest way to ship large B2C e-commerce internationally, in addition to small items in a scalable and modular way.
In 2018, Ladingo was awarded first place at the 2018 Retail Disrupt startup competition. It was also selected by CIO Review as one of the “20 Most Promising Retail Solution Providers 2019.” Its innovative platform introduces the possibility of low-cost, international shipping of both small and large items purchased through online retailers. Ladingo engages not only air freight as most B2C e-commerce is delivered today, but ocean freight as well.
By streamlining the B2C e-commerce via ocean freight as well as utilizing Ladingo’s container sharing technology, product size and weight are no longer barriers to affordable international shipping. Now furniture, fitness equipment and bicycles become widely affordable to global shoppers via Ladingo’s API-based solution, thus enabling any online retailer to dramatically expand its reach.
“We are excited that our cloud-based platform is finally helping to resolve one of the greatest pains experienced by US retailers,” says Ruth Reiner, CMO of Ladingo. “Affordable shipping has become the name of the game today. Imagine a shopper in the UK buying from a US retailer online and the sofa being delivered directly to the shopper’s doorstep in the UK from China. This means saving two shipping rounds, customs going in and out of the US, warehousing in the US and more. Retailers will be able to save millions while expanding their reach to millions more. The world is moving towards direct shipping of large items to shoppers and Ladingo plans on leading this revolution,” adds Reiner.
