WhatsApp Starts the New Year with global outage

WhatsApp’s users in Europe, Asia, and South America experienced outage as the app went down in several parts of the world today. The messenger app went down on New Year’s Eve angering millions of users across globe. The website, Outage.Report, found that the largest concentration of outages in portions of England, Germany, and virtually all of the Netherlands, as well as parts of Italy, Spain, and central Europe.
WhatsApp Messenger is a cross platform mobile messaging app for smart phones such as the iPhone, Android phones, Windows Mobile or Blackberry. It is used by over 1 billion users worldwide. Whatsapp allows users to send and recieve messages, photos, and other information and is considered an alternative to text messages or SMS.
